Relive Shakira and Burna Boy’s electrifying live debut of ‘Dai Dai’ at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony, with dazzling visuals and star power.

The Grand Debut of ‘Dai Dai’

The climax of the star-studded ceremony came when Shakira took center stage alongside Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Burna Boy. Together, they delivered the very first live performance of ‘Dai Dai’, the official song of the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

Dressed in a vibrant yellow-and-purple outfit paired with sleek dark glasses, Shakira commanded the pitch, surrounded by hundreds of colorful dancers. The performance featured high-energy choreography, intricate visuals celebrating the host cultures, and a massive World Cup trophy prop gleaming under the stadium lights.

‘Dai Dai’—which seamlessly blends Latin pop rhythms with Afrobeats—already boasts over 115 million views on YouTube for its music video, which features cameos by football legends like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé. The track also directly supports the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, aiming to raise $100 million for youth education and sports opportunities worldwide.

A Star-Studded All-Star Lineup

The opening ceremony was a massive festival celebrating the official World Cup album, featuring a dynamic lineup of international and Latin icons who set the stadium on fire:

  • Maná: The iconic band from Guadalajara got the entire stadium singing along to their timeless rock anthem “Oye Mi Amor”.

  • Lila Downs: Dressed in a traditional indigenous huipil, she welcomed the world to Mexico alongside dancers honoring pre-Hispanic heritage.

  • Danny Ocean: The Venezuelan star pumped up the international crowd by performing “Partidazo”, an energetic track featured on the official FIFA album.

  • Belinda & Los Ángeles Azules: Brought traditional Mexican cumbia flavors to life on the pitch with their hit collaboration “Por Ella”.

  • J Balvin: Lit up the stage with a high-octane medley of his global smashes, including “Qué Calor”, “Una a la Vez” (joined by Ryan Castro), and his massive hit “I Like It”.

The pre-match festivities reached an emotional peak when World Cup Ambassador Salma Hayek Pinault welcomed the 48 competing nations, followed by a chilling performance of the official 2026 anthem “DNA” by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and EJAE. South African artist Tyla and Mexican icon Alejandro Fernández then rounded out the historic ceremony by singing their respective national anthems as smoke and colors filled the sky.
